Green Matters

This is our Environmental Earth class blog. One student will make an entry every day, hopefully.

Journal for the day: What are West Virginia's natural resources?

The purpose of this journal entry was to connect the history of the earth with what is in our state. Jacob was excellent in naming most of the natural resources: coal, timber, limestone, salt, natural gas are the resources named by students.

Today we watched a part of "How The Earth Was Made," a DVD that documents the theories of the creation of the earth based on scientific observations. Students took notes in their personal journals.

We then went outside to monitor the tulip bed for Journey North. There was no sign of growth or green in the bed. We recovered the organic vegetable garden to prevent more freezing of the greenery that is still evident. It was about 30 degrees when we outside.
